NON-PROFIT TOOLS

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, includes provisions in the nearly 900-page emergency aid package supporting Section 501(c)(6) organizations, and significant assistance is available to Section 501(c)(3) organizations and certain other nonprofits. The Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and Emergency Economic Injury Grants provide an emergency advance of up to $10,000 to small businesses and private non-profits harmed by COVID-19 within three days of applying for a Small Business Administration EIDL. Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program Loans are designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll and will be completely forgiven if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities.
