LAPA relies heavily on volunteers and several committees. Below are the descriptions for each. If you are interested in joining a committee or other volunteer opportunities, contact the Chairperson below.  All are invited to get involved!

Communications Committee

Committee Members - 

Purpose of Committee - The Communications Committee is responsible for communicating all information and marketing from and of LAPA to its members, both in written and electronic media.

Committee Activities - The committee has input into the creation, design, content and maintenance of the LAPA website. It also maintains the social media accounts for LAPA and oversees the content and publication, along with the newsletter editor, of LAPA’s quarterly newsletter. Members of the communications committee have periodic conference calls and digital meetings to discuss committee goals and delegate tasks. It is the responsibility of the communications committee to have an active presence in the LAPA, and to maintain the most up to date information to be relayed out to LAPA's constituents.

Conference Committee

Chairperson – Rebecca Clawson, PA-C 

Committee Members - 

Purpose of Committee – The Conference Committee is responsible for organizing LAPA's annual CME conference

Committee Activities – The committee assists with the annual CME conference including topic and speaker selection, location, and special events. Coordinates corporate support. The Conference Committee works to provide quality, cost-effective, CME conferences for LAPA members that include quality educational content, qualified presenters and relevant vendors/sponsors. 

Legislative & Advocacy Committee

Co-Chairpersons – Sarah Deyo, PA-C and Shelly Esnard, PA-C

Committee Members – Rebecca Clawson, Michael Falba, Emillie Davis, Michael Hebert, Steven Presley, and Sabrina Weathersby

Purpose of Committee - The Legislative Committee advocates for the PAs in Louisiana and is a leader in protecting the PA practice environment in Louisiana. The committee regularly interacts with legislators on issues that are important and affect PAs. The committee also develops and maintains relationships with other health care organizations and creates legislative initiatives to promote and protect the PA profession in Louisiana.

Committee Activities - The committee has been active during an election year to show support for PA friendly legislators and attend their fundraisers

Membership Committee

Chairperson – Brandie Henry, PA-C

Committee Members - Stephanie Eschete, Jolie May Relle, Kacey Buckner Lopez, Jeffrey Daigle, Stephen Price, Georgia Monk, Rebecca Clawson, and Katherine Alleyne

Purpose of Committee – The Membership Committee maintains the membership database and assists in the recruitment and retention of members. The committee works to improve member-based services and benefits of being a LAPA member.

Committee Activities – The primary purpose involves engaging it's current members. It is also responsible for the recruitment and retention of LAPA members as well as engagement of PA Students. The membership committee works closely with the Communications Committee and the Regional Ambassadors.

PAC Committee
